Well rose lovers this week was hometown dates and in true Bachelorette fashion there’s not too much that can be made fun of here considering everyone’s families just want someone nice and honest to love their child unconditionally. So let’s get to it!
First up is Chase who almost has an expression on his face when talking about his family. Turns out his parents are divorced so they have to do the visits seperately, first JoJo meets his dad and then goes to have dinner with his mom and the rest of his family. Chase gets real in a talk with his dad when he asked what mistakes his dad made in his relationship with his mom. He says that he was too focused on climbing the corporate ladder and wasn’t there enough and doesn’t want Chase to make the same mistakes. JoJo nods next to him and is super grateful that she understands a deeper side of Chase.
Next up, she visits Jordan’s hometown and his high school – because that’s the most special place in his past. I’m sorry the fact that his high school football coach was drug out for this episode is worrisome. Does Jordan literally have no other portion of his personality to show other than “look how popular I was in high school”? Seriously you can tell that Jordan has never had a girl he likes not be interested in him. I feel like he’s just always managed to get whatever he wants and that’s why JoJo has a lot of reservations about him. She also tries to get to the bottom of the mystery of why his brother isn’t really a part of the family anymore, but to no avail. She gets nothing out of Jordan or his other brother. For the gossip she probably should have gone straight to Jordan’s brother’s girlfriend/wife who truly has Gretchen Weiner’s hair full of secrets.
Next up Robbie’s hometown and he truly has my favorite family member of all time, his mom who straight up went nuts with excitement when the two of them walked through the door. #Drunk. The rest of his family definitely had plenty of wine and even had those wine glass tumblers – I approve. Basically JoJo spends most of that time worrying about whether or not Robbie is over his ex-girlfriend, made even more dramatic by the fact that Robbie’s mom tells him that his ex-girlfriend’s roommate is spreading “lies” about how Robbie broke up with his ex to go on the show. Robbie insists on telling JoJo about it and tries to assure her that he’s telling the truth and it’s all in his past. Does she believe him? I can’t really tell. He seems genuine, but then again so do all the other liars you know in your life.
Lastly we have my tv boyfriend Luke. He takes JoJo to his family farm to meet his family and fifty of his closest family and friends. Yes, fifty people. He basically brought her to a super fun party and barbeque. Luke gets a little more personable around all these family members and is really in his element. He whisks JoJo away from the crowd at the end to tell her that he wants her and she has his heart and then she starts to tear up saying how sad she is to leave. The whole date felt like it lasted twice as long as all the others and I honestly felt like Luke basically secured being the next bachelor and/or edged out Jordan for the win here.
Cocktails parties are super passe and instead we go to the rose ceremony at a private airport with a limo to take the loser away and a jet to transport the rest of the crew to the next exotic location. JoJo tells Chris Harrison she has no idea what she’s going to do but then tells the camera in her interview that she thinks she needs to get rid of….LUKE!!! What the hell JoJo???? How are you not going to take Luke and his sexy body to the final three and get it on in the fantasy suite with him?? BUT before she can start calling names Luke asks if he could talk to JoJo for a second and she gratefully says yes. They walk outside and Luke said he wanted to tell JoJo that he’s in love with her and he’s been thinking about telling her that since her date at his hometown. She thanks him for telling her and he goes back inside. Then she wanders away down the runway crying and having the breakdown of breakdowns screeching about how now she has no idea what to do. You guessed it America – we get a “to be continued” on the screen. Ughhh whyyyyy! I want to see Luke shirtless in the exotic island escape next week! Anyway, next week is another special two night event, Monday being the exciting conclusion of the rose ceremony and the regular show and then Tuesday is the men tell all reunion I guess. Which, I’m glad they’re fitting that in here because it’s super annoying to waste a whole week just on that show. Stay tuned for next week when JoJo might still get rid of Luke and I might actually lose my mind.
