I don’t know about ya’ll, but I long for a life of adventure and exploration. I long for a life with millions and millions of stories to share and reminisce on in later years. I picture myself in different places, having conversations with people I don’t even know. As I grow older and embrace these twenty-something years of the freedom, I have come to the realization that life is not meant to be lived in one place.
In my twenties, I plan on discovering new places and experiencing a variety of different cultures. Being born and raised in a Hispanic culture has taught me many things, but most importantly to never forget where you came from and to be grateful for those roots. I am absolutely blessed to be fluent in not one language, but two: English and Spanish. Adding on to my list of languages I would love to learn French and visit Paris one day (cliché I know!). It has always been my dream to visit Paris during fashion week. Talk about the experience of a lifetime, right?
In the future, I see myself on beautiful sandy beaches, taking photos in front of exquisite architecture, and hiking the world’s most naturally beautiful forests, lakes, waterfalls, etc. You’re probably sitting here and thinking you’d like to live the same life of adventure and exploration as I could only hope for, except there may be one tiny problem… How am I going to get there as a college student working part-time? I have looked into my options and here are two of the simplest ways…
- Study abroad
- Become a flight attendant
Studying abroad would be so much fun and not to mention an unforgettable experience. On the other hand, becoming a flight attendant has always been one of the many things I would like to do in my life. Becoming a flight attendant in my twenty-something years would be an adventure like no other. Constantly traveling, embracing new cultures, interacting with different people… Sounds like the perfect life of a twenty-something year old.
I believe this world has so much to offer and we must explore all that we can while we can. Being young and able is a powerful thing. When I begin this traveling journey of mine as a future journalist, I plan on documenting personal experiences of mine so that later I am able to share them with others.
So, now what? What are you waiting for? Adventure awaits!
