Gather round, lowly peasants, as we celebrate the birthday of our noble leader: the stunning, fierce, and fabulous Beyoncé Giselle Knowles!
On this day 33 years ago, Mama Tina birthed Baby Bey. Little did we know that, one day, this young Texan would teach us the meaning of “bootylicious”, tell all the petty bitches of the world to “Bow Down”, and name her daughter Blue Ivy (us regular people would never get away with that, but she can because she’s BEYONCÉ).
In honor of this pseudo-national holiday, here are three things we love to love about #QueenBey:
1) Her Style
Try to think of a single time in your life that you’ve ever seen Beyoncé and she didn’t look like sheer perfection. Go ahead, try. Newsflash: she ALWAYS looks AMAZING. Perfect makeup. Hair styled by the gods themselves. Flawless outfits crafted by whatever lucky designer had the honor of styling Her Majesty. Even if she couldn’t sing, we just love to look at her. Which brings me to…
2) Her Music
I know pretty much every word to every Beyoncé song ever and I don’t care who knows because that’s just how awesome her songs are. From the days of Destiny’s Child to that time she reminded us all that girls do, in fact, run the world, Beyonce’s songs always makes us want to get up and dance. Remember that one time she dropped an entire album on iTunes with no warning and it was AMAZING?! We are so unworthy.
3) Blue Ivy
I’ll be the first to admit that it took me a minute to wrap my head around a name like Blue Ivy. But weird name or not, it’s no secret that Beyoncé and Jay Z’s little princess is THE most adorable celebrity baby of all time. I wonder what it’s like to be the offspring of music royalty…one of her pacifiers could probably pay off my student loans. And when she did her “Flawless” dance at the VMAs?! iDied *insert heart eyes emoji*
We wish the happiest of birthdays to Her Highness Beyoncé. May she continue to grace us with her Beyoncé-ness for many years to come. Long live the Queen.
