As I’m sitting here enjoying my cup of almond milk coffee in my comfy pjs, I couldn’t be more happy that I’m not out a part of the madness of Black Friday weekend. I was actually tempted to go to Target this morning (to get Bieber’s new cd, I’ll admit it) but the thought of seeing endless lines wrapping around the store for deals on huge TVs most of these people don’t even need, ehhh I think I’ll pass.
I have never actually partaken in Black Friday weekend shopping extravaganza except for two instances on Thanksgiving night when I ran out to the mall with my mom (hey the first 100 customers received awesome coupons at Lord & Taylor) and a quick trip to Target with two of my friends. The results? At the mall I purchased two NARS concealers for a little over the price of one (thank you L&T coupon) and at Target, a $1 Sex and the City Movie DVD. So there you go, Black Friday shopping really isn’t my cup of tea because I get anxiety just thinking about sweating amongst the crowds searching through racks of clothes or messy aisles of electronics.
Now thanks to my shopping addict friends, I learned how great Cyber Monday is. Yes, Cyber Monday can be just as overwhelming as Black Friday with the countless deals on all these websites that want to lure you in. Are these deals as good as they claim? Here I break down and suggest a few good ones…
We can never go wrong with Amazon. I’ve literally bought everything from medicine balls, to workout pants, to hair products on Amazon because of their great prices. So why wouldn’t their Cyber Monday deals be just as amazing, if not more? Wanting to buy a Kindle but not into the heavy price tag? Amazon could save you a nice $20. Or maybe your brother has been nagging you for Bluetooth speakers for the holidays…Amazon has got you covered.
For my twenty-something ladies who may live under a rock (HA, I’m kidding…) you need to stop what you’re doing and go onto Tobi.com. Ugh, the clothes are adorable on this site and having the entire website be 50% off for Cyber Monday? Ahhhh-mazing! Tobi has that perfect little black dress, cozy sweaters, cute accessories, and more. Goodbye hourly mall trip and hello comfy shopping online!
No need to feel like you can’t shop department stores from the comfort of your home. Nordstrom’s website has the same, if not better sales online than in stores. Nordstrom.com is offering an extra 25% off all sale items, as well as 40% off on designer brands, and special savings on brands such as North Face and Ugg, brands that typically NEVER EVER go on sale. This is the time to treat yourself to new Zella workout pants (my absolute fave), or splurge on a good price North Face jacket on Cyber Monday.
4) Bed Bath & Beyond.com
I know you’re probably like “What? Bed Bath and Beyond? My mom shops there.” Exactly! Any kitchen appliance your mom has been repeating she needs? Or maybe some baking appliances for your BFF who thinks she is Betty Crocker? BB&B is awesome and you could find so many fun, quirky household things here. Aside from using coupons online you may have gotten in the mail, the site will also have some pretty great deals for Cyber Monday too.
So my fellow twenty-somethings, I hope this short guide helps to put you at ease with all the overwhelming deals and steals this holiday season has to offer. Take your time on Cyber Monday, things won’t run out online as quickly as you think. Grab a coffee and a snack, look around, and shop around all from just the ease of a click. Happy shopping!
