The holiday’s have just come and gone, and naturally, we were all excited to spend time with family, drink hot cocoa, and open gifts that were bought with us in mind. It can be so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of greediness and materialism that sometimes, we forget to realize to look over to the ones we love and watch them open the gifts we bought with them in mind.
Receiving is great, don’t get me wrong — but spending time, money, and effort on a gift for someone you care about, and then watching them open that gift and experience the joy that you intended, that’s better than anything else.
Spending time with loved ones and realizing how lucky we are to have these people and this kindness in our lives is the truly, the real meaning of Christmas. Make an effort to hold them a little bit closer this year, and make sure to tell them how much you love them even during the hustle and bustle of “real life” and responsibility.
I hope you got to see your loved ones faces light up when they opened the gifts you worked hard to buy and the love you are willing to share. Let’s keep this trend going throughout the the New Year.
