City Spotlight: San Francisco
We’ve covered some major East coast cities, and now we’re tackling one on the West Coast: San Francisco.
Get the Vibe
California: the land of tanned skinned, beach hair, surfers and celebrities alike, and of course, Laguna Beach. Who hasn’t dreamt as a teenager of moving to California, getting a serious tan and having an awesome, wealth filled life with Brody? Anyone? No? Just me? Well, for those of us who did dream of that, its definitely time to drop on by the beautiful West Coast and make that dream come true- realistically minus the Brody part, but hey a girl can dream, right? San Francisco, although northern California, and a little far from our friends on Laguna Beach, definitely still has that laid back vibe that we crave. Sometimes you need a just need break from that New York minute, am I right? And San Francisco is the place to find it.
Grab A Bite to Eat
Our lovely writers here at TSL have given us some seriously awesome recommendations to grab a bite to eat in this awesome city. One of our writer favorites is The Mill on Divisadero. They’ve got great options including fantastic toast with some delicious toppings, and even Monday pizza nights, where they offer options with ingredients from the local produce stands bought that day.
Take a Stroll or Experience the Nightlife
Check out Pier 39 for some awesome sights, including cute seals, small shops, and great eats. If you want to look into it in advance, they’ve got a pretty cool website, including a live webcam to watch the seals! Also, take a stroll through China Town, and experience what San Francisco has to offer!
Visit a Hidden Gem Outside of the City
Wine Country. Wine Country. Wine Country. Now if the promise of wine isn’t something that will attract a female twenty-something, then I don’t know what will. San Francisco’s close proximity to California wine country is definitely not something to overlook.
How About a New Apartment?
Take at look at Hayes Valley. A place in town with trendy shops, coffee shops, and to die for restaurants, Hayes Valley is the trendiest place in town- definitely the perfect spot for us twenty-something’s to rent that new apartment.
