Let it be known that I am a flea market addict, and an Etsy haggler- and I am unashamed to admit it. My style is somewhat funky, and I am drawn to things that are out of the ordinary, which is exactly how I recently ended up with a three tiered yellow chandelier straight out of the seventies, but that’s neither here nor there. These days I have been pining (and pinning) for the perfect home office. There is nothing that I love more than a perfectly designed space full of beautiful furniture and art, so I wanted to share my top 5 furniture items that will perk up your place instantly- Happy Decorating!
1. A French Provincial Desk
Just looking at this beyond beautiful desk makes me feel ready to burst into song. Imagine sitting down here to drink your coffee and read my website, it’s the picture of perfection am I right? Buy this piece (and the one from the featured image above) at Hayleon Vintage on Etsy, but if you do please tell me so I can stop trying to convince my boyfriend that this needs to find a home in my living room. Be warned, I may cry.
2. A Happy Headboard
Bedroom feeling plain? Add a little excitement with a statement in the form of a headboard. This year I made my first headboard purchase, and I can honestly tell you that it completely changed the look and feel of my bedroom. You know how people on HGTV are always talking about how they want a “master retreat”? The right headboard will singlehandedly give you this feeling. Buy this one at Q Home Goods.
3. A Cute Coffee Table
Nothing says comfy like some reclaimed wood… maybe. But either way you can not tell me that this table doesn’t rock. I love the look of it, and the funky legs. Imagine drinking wine and playing cards against humanity on this table. Heaven. Also, I may have turned into a grandma as soon as I laid eyes on this table, but I don’t even care. Buy something similar at triple7recycled.
4. A Mirror
You’re right, a mirror isn’t technically a piece of furniture, but it is a great way to add personality to a space, especially if you pick a piece with pizzaz like this one. Hang it on the wall to reflect some great light throughout the place and step back to admire your handiwork. Get a great mirror at WildMountainStudio.
5. A Statement Chair
And now for my corporate recommendation, purchase any of these fantastic chairs at Anthropologie. Anthropologie is my favorite real store. I could buy every single thing that they sell in the home section (and honestly the clothing) and never have enough. I have at least 3 different sets of plates and bowls, and have even managed to convince myself that I needed a butter tray (what), as well as at least 4 vases and a set of four extremely beautiful ornate etched champagne glasses. Because everyone needs those…. right? Shhhhhh, don’t tell my boyfriend where my paycheck goes, because I like it this way.
